A Deeper Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support

PBS Training & Behaviour Support Services for Schools

We partner with schools across Australia to implement practical, evidence-based behaviour systems that manage disruptive behaviours in classrooms, strengthen learning, staff confidence, and whole-school culture.

Our work is grounded in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and behavioural science, delivered through a structured three-tier GROWTH framework. We equip teachers, wellbeing teams, and school leaders with clear, actionable strategies that move beyond reactive behaviour management toward proactive, preventative, and sustainable practice.

PBS is supported by decades of research demonstrating its effectiveness in reducing behaviours of concern, increasing student engagement, and improving overall school climate. We integrate trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity-affirming approaches to ensure inclusive, responsive support that reflects the complexity of today’s classrooms.

With behaviour challenges increasing and educator workload intensifying, schools require more than one-off professional development. We support schools to implement consistent, whole-school frameworks that build internal capability and create long-term impact.

Our services include:

  • Whole-school PBS implementation planning
  • Tier 1 and Tier 2 intervention frameworks
  • Staff professional learning and in-class coaching
  • Behaviour observation, consultation, and strategy refinement
  • Development of behaviour data tracking and monitoring systems
  • Leadership coaching to ensure sustainability and alignment

We equip schools with real, evidence based strategies to manage disruptive behaviours in classrooms. Our approach reduces incidents and restores valuable learning time. The result is calmer, more focused environments where both students and staff can thrive.

Challenges Experienced in Schools

Escalating Student Behaviours

Behaviour incidents, emotional outbursts, and dysregulation are increasing across schools.

Disconnection Between Staff & Students

Many students feel unseen, while educators feel frustrated and powerless.

Growing Complexity of Student Needs

More students present with trauma histories, neurodivergence, and mental health needs.

Benefits to Positive Behaviour Support

Benefits for Students

Feel seen. Heard. Safe. Ready to learn.

  • Improved emotional regulation: Students learn to name, express, and manage their feelings in appropriate ways
  • Increased engagement: Calm, structured classrooms support focus, participation, and learning.
  • Greater sense of safety and connection: Trust with adults and peers strengthens.
  • Exclusionary discipline decreases: Evidence based behaviour frameworks reduce suspensions and reactive responses.
  • Support is inclusive and responsive: This is particularly important for students with trauma backgrounds, autism, ADHD, anxiety, and other additional needs.

The result is a classroom environment where every student can succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Benefits for Education Systems

Move beyond patchy programs and short-term fixes. Establish a consistent, system-wide approach that delivers measurable impact.

Strengthen alignment with national requirements: Our framework supports NCCD processes, the Disability Standards for Education, and inclusive education priorities while building genuine classroom capability.

Reduce costly reactive responses: Fewer suspensions, reduced staff burnout, and fewer critical incidents protect both budgets and workforce stability.

Scale with confidence: The model adapts to individual school contexts while maintaining system consistency across campuses and regions.

Measure what matters: Clear data tracking allows outcomes to be monitored, reported, and linked to strategic improvement plans.

Strengthen equity across your system: Proactive, evidence based strategies support vulnerable learners early, before behaviours escalate and learning is disrupted.

This is not another initiative. It is a practical, sustainable framework that improves staff confidence, protects instructional time, and delivers long term cultural change.
